iPhone 3G For $49 at Fido

Fido is introducing what it calls "Refreshed iPhone 3G". What does it mean? These are phones that were returned within days of activation and the 8GB can go as low as $49 with a new contract. Given what the total cost of ownership of an iPhone hovers around $2000 over a couple of years, would this make you jump the gun? [link]
